GLOBAL ACTION
Millions are Affected by Global Poverty and Disease
Every day millions of people live in places without clean water, adequate food, or access to medicine and education. The devastating global impact of extreme poverty and HIV & AIDS in developing countries has led to millions of orphans and vulnerable children to fend for themselves. The NYCLC seeks to stimulate a movement of global compassion connecting ministry and marketplace leaders with missional opportunities in communities worldwide, demonstrating Christ's love to a hurting world.

An Engaged Leader
Keith Boyd, Trinity Baptist Church - Midtown Manhattan
In the fall of 2004, Keith had been praying for God to grow his heart and compassion. So when Mac Pier, president of The NYCLC, asked him to go to Africa on a Vision Trip with him and World Vision, Keith knew that God was answering his prayer. Having seen Matthew 25 in real life - the poor, the widowed, the destitute, Keith felt compelled by God to respond. Since then, Keith and his congregation have sent 80 people to Rwanda. They have built homes for 10 families, secured funding for 5 wells and 2 micro-finance projects, and raised over 1,000 child sponsorships. "The real beauty of all this is that not only has our congregation been involved but also our friends, family and colleagues," explained Keith. "We've seen many people touched by these humanitarian efforts -- even Muslims, Jews and atheists have been involved!"
Exponential Impact: Keith and his congregation have begun to see God use them beyond their wildest dreams to transform 2 communities in Rwanda, a country devastated by genocide and by HIV & AIDS.
